How to donate during the COVID-19 STATE OF EMERGENCY
The church communities within the Parish of St. Francis and St. Clare continue to operate although churches are closed and strict social distancing is in effect. Clergy and parish staff are working, on-line masses are made available as much as possible, buildings are being maintained and fixed costs continue. Parishioners are encouraged to rely on the bond of communion that unites us with Christ and His church in faith, hope and love.
Regular collections have ceased, and pre-authorized payments represent a fraction of the usual church income.
If you wish to continue contributing or to make a special donation at this time, you have a number of options:
Electronic transfer
You can use the Interac transfer feature of your bank account to email a donation to office@stfrancisandstclareparish.ca. It will be automatically deposited, and the parish office notified. Please use the message feature of the Interac transfer to indicate your name, the church to which you are donating, your envelope number if available, and if the donation is for a special collection.
Mail
You can mail donations to your church or to the parish office, indicating the specific church or other purpose to which you are contributing. Cheques must be made payable to St. Francis & St. Clare of Assisi Parish. The parish office address is:
6351 North Street, Halifax, NS B3L 1P7
Pre-authorized payments
This might be the time to sign up for the monthly pre-authorized payments that dozens of parishioners are already using for the Sunday collection. It means your planned support of your church community is not interrupted by unexpected events.
You can email office@saintcatherineofsiena.ca for the form authorizing pre-authorized payments. You can print, complete and sign the form, scan it and email it back to start the pre-authorized donations. You can also use regular mail to receive, complete, sign and return the pre-payment form.
Thank you in advance to any and everyone who contributes at this time. We know a day will come when we can again assemble to celebrate the Eucharist and receive Christ in communion. Until then, may God bless you and keep safe.
